Martha Elizabeth Griffin Bullock, 67, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018. She was born April 23, 1951 in New Hanover County to the late Thomas Matthew Griffin and Nell Smith Griffin. Martha married the love of her life, Vernon Charles Bullock on December 22, 1968. She was a retired social worker, having dedicated 33 years of her service with Wake County Social Services - Childcare Division.
Funeral service 1:00 pm, Thursday, June 14, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Burial will follow at Wentworth Christian Church Cemetery, 8616 Ten Ten Road, Raleigh, NC 27603.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory and other times at the home, 316 Third Avenue, Knightdale.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Vernon Charles Bullock; son, J.R. Bullock of Wendell; daughter, Carolyn Bullock Walker and husband Brad of Raleigh; grandchildren: Zachary T. Bullock, Matthew A. Bullock, Griffin N. Walker, Charlotte E. Walker, Nash H. Walker; and her brother, Jerry Griffin of Raleigh.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Catherine Elizabeth Bullock and a brother, Danny Griffin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27607 or the North Carolina Patriot Guard, PO Box 36202, Fayetteville, NC 28303.
