From Lexington Kentucky, When I entered the University of Kentucky College of Nursing as an RN/BSN student, Mary was on the faculty. She was helping to set the direction for this newly developing nursing program. A few years later I became a faculty member at Eastern Kentucky University. Mary was there. During our time there we took a road trip together to a variety of schools around the country seeking innovative ideas for developing the BSN program at Eastern. We became friends and enjoyed good times and laughs together. After Mary moved to North Carolina we kept in touch until she retired. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. She often spoke of you and especially the family rivalry re: Alabama/Auburn sports.

Mary was the Sophmore Nursing Coordinator and part of an innovative facultycreating a fantastic program as I began my journey into nursing as a member of the forth class at the University of Kentucky, College of Nursing. Additionally, she was a major reason that I went back to school - so I could continue to teach. We shared time together in faculty positions at both Eastern Kentucky University & UNC. SHE WAS ALWAYS A MASTER EDUCATOR and there are far to few of these.
My sincere condolenscences to her family, close friends and all of her students from across her exceptinal career. She clearly deserves the Peace & Grace of her faith & convictions as she joins those who have passed before her & moved into God's Heavenly Kingdom.

Mary and I met only once when I was helping my best friend move in to her new home across from her a few years ago. I'm sorry to hear about her passing but I must say I was quite impressed with her nursing history and all she gave of herself while she was here. My sincerest condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.
