Please, If there are family members of Mike's who are doing genealogy work, please contact me. I am seeking Lavell family (his mother's side) genealogy information. I am the only child of Dorothy Lavell Schieber and John Schieber. Dorothy, Michael's Aunt, died in 1958. I am in Madison, Wisconsin. Landline of 608-274-1195. I believe Mike's daughter was at one time creating genealogy records. I would love to connect, please. Thank you! My email is [email protected]

Mike was my cousin on my mother's side. His mother Viola, was one of my mother Dorothy's older sisters. He is the dashing young boy in my parents' formal wedding party photo. Handsome! After my mother died and my father remarried, I never got to know Mike well and I always wished my ties to that side of my family were stronger. When I finally did see him, he was kind, funny, intelligent, sensitive and loving, just like all the rest of the family I've met on occasion, and just as I'd remembered from my childhood. I am sorry to see that he has passed. I had always hoped for more connection with him. I remember Aunt Vi and Uncle Pete (Virgil) speaking of him with such love and respect and affection. He was someone special. He really was. My condolences to all who loved him.

Mike and I met while we both served in Vietnam. Our relationship went through many stages over the years, with the best of it manifested by our son, Michael. To Mike's children, their families, his grandchildren and all those whom he loved, I offer my deepest condolences and wishes for peace and comfort in remembering his life, love and friendship.
