Raleigh, North Carolina - Mildred Louise McLean (née Beason), 88, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Born on November 27, 1936, in Birmingham, Alabama, Mildred was a woman of grace and dedication. She attended Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida, before embarking on a career in the banking industry. Her hard work and commitment led her to Wells Fargo, where she eventually retired after years of dedicated service.

Beyond her professional life, Mildred had a deep love for the arts. As a teenager, she performed with The Birmingham Civic Ballet, an experience that fostered a lifelong passion for ballet and classical music. She also found joy in literature and was an active member of a book club. Her appreciation for art further enriched her life and those around her.

Faith played a central role in Mildred's life. She was devoted to the Church and spent many years teaching children's Sunday school. She was also an active member of the morning prayer group at the Church of the Holy Cross, where she found community and spiritual fulfillment.

Mildred's kindness and selflessness were evident in all aspects of her lifeshe always put others first. Her warmth and generosity left a lasting impact on those who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, John; her son, Brian; her daughter, Kirsten McLean Stellyes (Gerald); grandsons John McLean, Brandon McLean, and Keith Stellyes; and great-grandson Milo McLean. She was predeceased by her parents, Agnes Mildred Makemson and Wyndham McLin Beason; her brother Wyndham McLin Beason Jr.; and her sisters Elizabeth Jerusha Beason, Virginia Isabel Beason, Agnes Makemson Beason, and Patricia Ann Beason.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Holy Cross, located at 2301 W. Millbrook Road in Raleigh, North Carolina (27612). A reception will follow to honor Mildred's memory and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Church of the Holy Cross discretionary fund.

Mildred's legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will continue to inspire those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.

A bright and shining light she was here on earth and will be a bright star in the heavens. One beautiful lady to every one she met she was a very sweet mind caring person and full of grace and love

RIP Louise! You were a wonderful mother and friend. This photo is from our beach trip. Oh how you loved the beach! We called this one "Beach Babes." We laughed so much on this trip.
