Scott Francis, 62, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family. Scott was born on March 24, 1963 in Ahoskie, North Carolina to his parents, James Elwood Francis and the late Eunice Inez Francis.
He grew up an accomplished martial artist and wrestler. After graduating from Ahoskie High School, he went on to win many titles as a professional kickboxer and was ranked fourth in the world. He later enlisted in the United States Navy, where he met the love of his life, Christina Rossetti. They were married in 1989 and welcomed three daughters into the world: Grace Francis-Gagné, Rachel Hope Billington, and Carmen Faith Carpenter.
Scott touched many lives when he opened Scott Francis' Academy of Muay Thai Kickboxing, where he trained many young people in discipline, perseverance, and dedication. In 2001, he and his wife founded CARE Insurance group, working together as partners with their daughter Rachel. Scott felt it was both an honor and a privilege to provide valuable services to seniors, and through his work he was able to help many people in his community. Scott served faithfully as a deacon and usher at Midway Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there for many years, sharing his faith and guiding others with patience and care.
Scott is survived by his wife of 36 years, Christina Rossetti Francis; daughters, Grace Francis-Gagné (Daniel), Rachel Hope Billington (Joshua) and Carmen Faith Carpenter (Collin); father, James Francis; brother Bobbie Perry (Gay) and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Green and his brother, Dale Perry.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 11:00am at Mid-Way Baptist Church, 6910 Fayetteville Road, Raleigh, NC 27603. Burial will follow at Wake Chapel Christian Church Memorial Gardens, 905 Wake Chapel Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.
