Millard Corbett "Rocky" Godwin, was born on March 25, 1931 in Johnston County, North Carolina. Rocky died in his home in Melbourne, Florida on June 24, 2015. His father, James Millard Godwin, passed away before his birth. He was raised by his deceased mother Lou Belle Corbett Godwin Davis and stepfather the late James Daughtry Davis. Rocky served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1952. It was during this time he met and fell in love with Jean Moser Godwin. Rocky and Jean were married in 1952 and stayed happily married for 63 years until Jean preceded him in death.

Jean Moser Godwin, 88, passed away on February 10, 2015, at the Life Care Center of Palm Bay, Florida. She was the only child born to Dr. Harold E. Moser and Marion Ogle Moser in Frederick, Maryland on February 3, 1927. She graduated from Frederick High School 1944, Duke University 1948, and East Carolina University with a M.A. in 1973.

Rocky earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tri-State University in 1955. Before retiring to Melbourne, Florida in 1992 they lived in many places throughout the country. Rocky worked in the phosphate/fertilizer industry, and Jean taught high school chemistry. They enjoyed working with their church, doing mission work in Alaska, and seeing North America in their RV.

They will be especially missed by their surviving children, Jeffrey Godwin, (Jo) of Melbourne, FL, Richard Godwin (Donna) of Cumming, Georgia and Diana Masker (Ralph) of Melbourne, FL, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In addition, Rocky is survived by his brother James D. Davis Jr, of Middlesex, North Carolina.

Rocky and Jean were examples of faith, integrity and unquestionable character. They will be greatly missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, 8164 Flower Hill Road in Middlesex, NC on August 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
