Mollie DeWalt Obituary
She was born July 29, 1926 in Dunn, NC to Paul C. and Mollie Pearsall Hood.
Mollie is survived by her three daughters Mollie DeWalt Keller of Chapel Hill; Susan DeWalt Brown (Chris) of Birmingham, AL; and, Paula DeWalt Symanski (John) of Charlotte, NC; also by her four grandsons, Blake and Bryan Keller, Joe and Kit Brown; and her twin great-grandchildren, Theo and Mia Brown. Mollie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. DeWalt, MD, her parents, and her brothers, Col. David Henry Hood and Edward Pearsall Hood.
The family appreciates the dedicated care provided by the staff of Carol Woods and Dr. Laura Hanson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 5, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the Carol Woods Retirement Community Assembly Hall with a reception to follow in the Social Lounge.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Animal Shelter of Orange County, NC, to The BrightFocus Foundation for Macular Degeneration Research, or to a charity of your choice.
Above all, Mollie loved and cherished her daughters, their husbands, her grandsons, and her great-grandchildren.
