Nancy Threatt Obituary

Nancy Greer Wood Threatt, 68, of Burlington, died Wednesday, September 10, 2008.
She was born in Roanoke Rapids, the daughter of the late Howard and Sybil Wood.
In her youth she was swimming life-safety instructor at T.J. Davis Recreation Center, member of the Roanoke Rapids High School Marching Band and graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in 1957.
She attended University of North Carolina Greensboro, obtained a BS in Nursing.
She worked as an RN and as an in-service instructor for North Carolina Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill for 17 years, also as Director of Nursing in several nursing homes in North Carolina.
She retired as a Nursing Consultant who traveled nationwide for Servicestar Corporation. Her compassion and dedication to nursing was an inspiration to those she mentored.
She is survived by a daughter, Ellen Threatt Smith and her husband, Manville of Coconut Creek, FL; two brothers, Howard Glenn Wood of Lynchburg, VA, Michael E. Wood of Roanoke Rapids; two grandchildren, Manville and Caroline Smith of Coconut Creek, FL.
Graveside service will be held in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, Saturday, September 13, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.
The Family will receive friends at Wrenn, Clarke and Hagan Funeral Home, Roanoke Rapids, Friday, September 12, 2008, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
