Norman Richard Smith, age 83, is survived by his son: Norman R. Smith and wife, Linda, of Apex; daughter: Maxine Corey; six grandchildren, four great and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Services Friday evening at 6 pm at Apex Funeral Home, with family to receive following. Entombment at Riverhurst Cemetery in Binghamton, NY.

Norm, Linda and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We really enjoyed listening to your Dad's stories and the great times listening to his music. We loved the way he told funny stories and could laugh at himself.

I was hoping that, by the time I was forced to write this, I would be able to call you my grandpa too. I have always been touched by the way you immediately welcomed me into your home and your family. You were well-loved and you will be missed. I'm saddened that I didn't have time to get to know you better, but God needed you more than I did.
