I remember Owen from Southern Bank. We worked in different branches but, he was always pleasant and enthusiastic whenever we met. I was truly saddened to learn of his passing.

Kathy: I grew up just behind Owen in Whaleyville going to school and church with him. What a guy! My best memory is the Halloween Carnival floorshow when he did his Elvis routine after announcing that Mrs. Helen Parker was not going to like it. It was great - all that shaking going on, plucking and singing - Just ahead of his time in Whaleyville.

Kathy,
Wesley & I were sorry to learn today of Owen's passing. We could sure remember some great times and stories while you'll lived in Ahoskie. I can well remember that Owen gave us our first loan after we were married. Wesley had tried to get a loan in the past, but couldn't with other sources. I went into the bank, Owen and I chat. Of course after he found out I spent numerous nights at your house with Janet while growing up, I have to admit getting a loan was a breeze after that. I'll never forgot the chats we had and reminiscing about Suffolk and the people we knew in common. Our prayers are with your family. Wesley & Jean Dail Jones

Bobby and I are so sorry to hear of Owen's death. He was such a fun person and truly enjoyed life. We did lots of reminiscing, thinking back to the times when Owen was singing with "The Melody Five Band", what great times we had. May your memories continue with you forever.
