Wake Forest
Patricia Ann Mucenski, (Patti) departed from this world on June 1, 2012 to start a new adventure in heaven. As an angel she will begin to mend the broken wings of souls in need.
Patti was born in Potsdam, New York on September 13, 1977 daughter of Edward S. Mucenski and Nancy Shene Mucenski. She was a graduate of Potsdam High School, she attended Elmira College where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and gradated Magna Cum Laude in 1998. She then went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Counselor of Education from East Carolina University in 1999 and was a member of the Chi Sigma Iota, an international academic counseling honor society. She was a licensed clinical professional counselor and a member of the North Carolina Counseling Association.
For most of her professional career Patti was a beloved guidance counselor in high schools in Maine and North Carolina where she saw the potential in students and encouraged them to follow their dreams.
She also was an active member of the Melmac Education Foundation that helped economically challenged students to achieve their dream of going to college.
Patti was a founding member of the National Office for School Counselor Advocacy, which strives to promote the value of school counselors as leaders in school reform, student achievement and college readiness.
Besides her parents Patti is survived by her siblings, Amy, Dennis, Lynn and Caitlin and her Grandmother Hester J. Shene. She was especially fond of children and animals and was a strong supporter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Potsdam, New York with Msgr. Robert Aucoin celebrant. There will be no calling hours. Online condolences can be sent at www.garnerfh.com.

It's taken me weeks to collect my thoughts and be able to express how truly sorry I am for the Mucenski's to endure the loss of such a wonderful person. Patti's passing came as such a shock and is still so unbelievable. Patti was my rock during the hardest period of my life as she offered words and brought such comfort when no one else could. She was one of the sweetest and kindest people I knew. Everyone in her family has been in my thoughts and prayers and I'm so sorry about this loss. She had such a wonderful impact on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her & will be missed greatly.

I was very sad to hear about Patti, 'Ms.M's,' passing. I remember her very fondly as my guidance counselor at Lisbon High School senior year '05-'06. Patti was a wonderful part of my high school experience and played a large part in my decision to become a social worker. I will forever remember her fondly and am very sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful person who touched the hearts of many people.

Words cannot express how sorry we are to hear of Miss "M's" passing. She was a wonderful guidance counselor at Lisbon High School, Lisbon, Maine. She was so supportive of all the kids ... offering compasion, understanding, encouragement and kindness. She had a great impact on my daughter's education, helping her to get just the right teachers who could help her with her learning difficulties. She made a difference for so many students... who were sad to see her leave before they graduated last year. Please know our hearts go out to you at this time! May God bring peace and comfort along with the knowledge that Patti made a huge difference in so many young lives! She was a wonderful example of God's love!

To Patricia;s family, My daughter was three weeks older than Patricia; I know how you feel about loosing her. M her memories help to soothe all you feel now and always. Cindy, mom of us, Fred 30 and the ate Frankie May born 22 August 1999 and passed away the 30th of October after a long illness, which she fought with courageous and determination to live u til she coujld fight no more. RIP< Frankie May and Patricia Ann with love all your families and all tose who knew and loved ou. <3

Dearest Nancy and Family,
My heart was so saddened to hear about Patti. Having memories from high school, Patti was always kind. She is a beautiful example of what we can only hope all of our children will strive to be. Patti blessed so many people at times in need wherever she was. Often she sent me messages inquiring about my son Jordan when he was ill, being so kind and compassionate to our situation. She did many nice things for others, just as you do Nancy. I am so happy and fortunate to have known Patti. Prayers are with you all.
