Paul B. Tyson, Jr. passed away at Transitions Life Care (Wake County Hospice) after a long illness. Paul was born and raised in Raleigh but left the area when he joined the Navy. He resided in Honolulu, HI and the Washington, D.C. area while serving his country. Upon leaving the Navy, he remained in the D.C. metropolitan area where he met his wife when they both worked for the Northrup Corporation. Paul returned to Raleigh in the early eighties to care for his mother and father prior to their deaths.

Paul was a past president of Raleigh Country Club and instrumental in its rebuilding and remodeling prior to its sale to a private investor.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years; Connie Conant Tyson, as well as his cousin Floyd T. Morgan and wife Ann; and his wife's family including nephew Jason Taylor and two sisters-in-law Patsy J. Taylor of Garner, NC, and Sandra Danaher and husband John of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Mary Conant of Raleigh, NC as well as a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his father Paul, Sr. and mother, Naomi Kirk Tyson and his Sister, Shirley Ann Tyson.

The family would like to thank the staff (both in the field and at the hospice) for the excellent care they gave not only to Paul but to family members as well.

A celebration of life will be held 2pm Monday, November 24, 2014 at Montlawn Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Monday immediately prior to service.
