I will greatly miss Rebecca both personally and professionally. I will always remember the epidemiologic goals and work that we jointly pursued at EPA over more than 20 years and the many uphill battles that were waged to give epidemiology it's rightful place at the Agency's scientific table. My most sincere condolences to Rebecca's family.

Doug,
Please accept my condolences on the loss of your wife and friend. As I recall, you met Rebecca around the time you relieved me as Engineer on DACE. She clearly put the sparkle in your eyes and a song in your heart.

Rebecca was a strong advocate for sound science and public health protection. Her work in designing and overseeing epi studies to better understand human health risks from swimming in recreational waters is foundational public health work. We will miss her.
