Robert Drefke Obituary

Robert Drefke
November 12, 1975 - June 6, 2023
Cary, North Carolina - Robert (Rob) Owen Drefke (47)
Born November 12th, 1975 to Donald and Susan Drefke in Gratiot, Michigan
Rob graduated from Cary High School in 1994. Around the same time he developed a passion for fast motorcycles and classic muscle cars. He went on to mentor many children while working at the local YMCA. He managed several Dominos Pizza locations increasing profits by a wide margin. His strong work ethic and attention to detail later led him to be an entrepreneur in several business ventures.
Rob enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends. He was always up for an adventure and enjoyed taking road trips to see new things and gain fresh experiences. He was easy to talk to and could spark up a conversation with anyone. His eclectic taste in music gave Rob the advantage of having something in common with everyone he met along his walk in life. Despite his stature, he put his heart into trying to be the best all around athlete (soccer, football, baseball, golf, bicycling among many others).
Rob had an addictive personality and an infectious laugh. He was always willing to help a friend in need and eager to learn something new along the way. A prankster at heart, he enjoyed making people laugh and smile. Rob was an incredible son, a loving brother, a dedicated uncle and loved by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed. May God rest his soul.
Rob is survived by his mother, Susan Drefke of Boca Raton, FL and brothers, Richard Drefke of Apex, NC and Steven Drefke of Chiefland, FL. Rob is preceded in death by his father, Donald Drefke of Winter Haven, FL.
A memorial service for Rob will be held at Christ The King Lutheran Church (600 Walnut St, Cary, NC 27511) on August 26, 2023 at 2pm.
The family requests that all donations be made to the church in lieu of flowers. Please make donations to the Christ The King Memorial Fund (ctkcary.com/give) in loving memory of Rob Drefke.

Rob. I only just learned of your passing, my heart is broken. You were my best friend at the YMCA, my very first day, I was put with you as your co counselor and your kindness, how much you truly cared for every child in our huddle, and then we quickly bonded and became best friends when we both learned we had the same exact sense of humor. You would be the only reason that I smiled on certain days. You were at my wedding, you saw me pregnant 5 times and met all of my babies. When my husband committed suicide in 2014, you were quick to reach out with your true condolences. I took the below picture on a very early morning by the racquetball quarts during check in time for the kids, always making us laugh. You will forever be in my heart and will forever be missed. I love you buddy
