Charlotte, North Carolina - Robert Vernon Knight, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina, age 94, died March 6, 2023 after a brief illness.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in Oxford Hall.

I had the pleasure of being introduced to Mr. Knight as the Executive Director f the CPCC Foundation by Mr. Robert Powell Majors.
It was a great pleasure in working with Mr. Knight on the car donations to CPCC, helping many people and students who needed cars with a limited funds.
He instilled confidence in me with the conversations we had.
Sometimes after business hours we would talk about various subjects about the banking / finance industry.He talked about the great importance of education.
We also talked about cars.
He told me the best cars he had were Buicks.
Over a period of 20 years after he left the foundation. I did have the opportunity to find his number and had a great conversation with him.
His words to me when he was Director of the Foundation "we need all we can get".
He was dedicated to securing funds to help many students persue their education.
He will be surely missed.
