Bob, I was so sorry to read in the N & O about your son's death. Know nothing about the circumstances but want to to know that my heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with you and your family. I unfortunately know the heartache and grief of losing a child and my main advice is to take things a minute, hour or day at a time---whatever segment enables you to get through the days ahead. Take care of yourself. ERNIE

BOB AND ANN, I CALLED THE OTHER NIGHT AND TALKED WITH CATHERINE. I SAY TALK BUT I COULD HARDLY SAY A WORD. ROBERT HAD A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART. HE WAS NOT ONLY A FRIEND OF MY BOYS AS THEY ALL GREW UP BUT HE WAS A FRIEND OF MINE WHEN HE GREW UP. FROM THE BASEBALL DAYS UP UNTIL LAST CHRISTMAS, WHEN I SAW HIM LAST, HE NEVER CALLED ME ANYTHING EXCEPT SIR OR MR JUNIUS. HE WAS AND HE STILL IS VERY SPECIAL. JUNIUS AND YVONNE

Bob and Ann,
Nothing can be said to lessen the sorrow but as a life long friend, know that I am with you in the spirit of prayer, friendship and concern, even if we are separated by hundreds of miles physically. I know that God will provide you the strength that's needed; He has given to me many times. You know that I've been close to where you are now before.
Hope to see you soon.

bob and ann--
bob and I are in Utah and, while reading the n&o online, read about your son's death. We reach out in great sorrow and pain to hold you. Your lives, and Moriah's, have been tragically altered. Everything is different and this pain is your new reality. Five years after our son's death, tears flow easily. no one would have wished for you to join this horrible club we are in; there are no words of consolation to ease your grief.Just know we hold you in our hearts. The only advice I can give you is hold on tightly to each other; go to bed holding hands; understand neither of you can make it okay for the other--you must do your own grieving; and each heart has its own pace of arriving at an acceptance of this new reality.
I am so sorry.
