Benson
Mrs. Ruby Hayes McLeod age 84 of Benson died Tuesday at Cornerstone in Dunn. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Friday at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Clayton Sutton and C. H. Lee. Burial will follow at Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Ruby was born February 6, 1927 in Harnett County to the late Rodney James and Beatrice Denning Lee. She was also preceded in death by Husbands, Alton Lee Hayes and Herbert McLeod, Daughters, Judy H. Lee and Wilma Jean Hayes; Grandson, Jamie Massengill; 2 Great Great Grandsons, Jonathan Norris and Lucas Anakin Row. Mrs. Ruby was a homemaker and member of Hood's Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving include son & daughter-in-law, Lee Albert & Jeannie Hayes of Benson; daughters & sons-in-law, Bobbie & Bruce Blackman of Newton Grove, Kay & Shelton Mitchell of Princeton, Linda & Charlie Mitchell of Princeton, Brenda Faye & Roy Stewart of Smithfield, Ann Parker of Four Oaks, Hattie Sue & Myron Massengill of Benson, Wenn & Doc Mitchell of Princeton, and Gwen Brewer of Benson; step-son & spouse, Jimmy & Peggy McLeod of Dunn; sister & brother-in-law, Janice & Mack Sutton of Fayetteville; 27 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, and at other times at the home of Gwen H. Brewer, 657 Godwin Lake Rd., Benson, NC.
Flowers are welcomed; however memorial may be made to Hood's Grove Baptist Church, % Travis Hudson, 3739 Meadowbrook Rd., Newton Grove, NC 28366, or Hospice of Wake & Harnett Counties, 1300 St. Mary's St., Suite 400, Raleigh, NC 27605.
