It is amazing that Russ, a man born with a kind heart, the most wonderful gift in the world and with a greaat sense of generosity, would take time from his busy schedule to befriend an elderly person. I am 97 years old and he has fringed my last days on this earth with joy. His memory will be like a beautiful star in the sky that will never fade. I hav a niece who is a nun. She lives at the Abby of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem,Connecticut. She had the pleasure of meeting Russ Several Years ago. I appreciate the Nuns holdling Holy Mass for Russ when he was ill and when he died.

Dear Cynthia and to the entire Ellis Family,
I had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. Ellis very briefly during his recent admission to WakeMed Cary, and from the start we hit it off and connected. I was very saddened to learn of his passing, but am consoled in the fact that his suffering was not long. Cynthia, he spoke of you with such love and concern, and I know that the fact that he was sick didn't bother him as much as the effect that his sickness would have on you and your daughter. Please know that loving thoughts are being sent your way from Mr. Ellis' nurse, JoAnn.
Yours,
JoAnn, RN

Russ, may your soul be healed of all the suffering of this earthly life as your angels enfold you in their loving care. You have left behind a family and friends who love you and are so grateful they knew you. You have left a legacy of love, the greatest thing any of us can do! Go in peace, my brother...and be well.

My deepest condolences in the passing of Russell. He has been a lifelong friend of mine since 1st grade. We will miss his caring ways for his friends. Russell was truly a friend to anyone he knew. He did not hesitate to lend a helping hand or a word of support. Russell, may you rest in peace knowing you are Sheltered in God's arms.
