Ruth and I have been neighbors since I moved next door to her and Ray in 1994. She and I spent many an hour working in our backyards together, or sitting on our front porches talking back and forth. Her daughters and I are the same age, more or less, and they have also become precious friends. I am heartbroken that Ruth is gone. Rest in peace, you sweet, kind, lovely woman. You lived well and are well loved. I will miss you. And your zucchini.

Our Mother Rita always talked very fondly of Aunt Ruth. They seemed to have had a special bond. Aunt Ruth was Mom's anchor as she raised us living so far away from her family. It would have been nice if they could have lived closer and spent more time together. We can only imagine the conversation their having now! What a wonderful life these great women have had.
