Scott Waldrup Obituary

Savannah, GA
Scott Thomas Waldrup, 30, died Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from injuries sustained at Bay St. and Jefferson St. after a heroic effort to save others.
Scott was born in Chattanooga, TN, son of David Joseph and Terry Brown Waldrup. At an early age, Scott and his family moved to Cary, NC, where he graduated from Enloe High School in Raleigh, NC. Scott attended Queen Mary University in London, England and earned a degree in performing arts. Scott returned to Raleigh where he began a career in the service industry at Rocky Top Hospitality. Scott moved to Savannah in 2011, where he continued his career in the service industry at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse and The Grey. He served in various positions and ultimately as general manager of The Grey.
Scott was "unforgettable" personified. Spend an hour with him, and you knew you had met someone special. His warmth, energy and wit were infectious – in the best possible way. He never gave anything less than 100 percent of himself and made being true to who you are an art form. Color filled his life, and he was always eager to share it with those around him. Scott lived life at full speed, squeezing more out of his 30 years than most do in 80. He saw life as an opportunity for adventure and made sure to bring others along with him. Scott was insatiably curious, a lifelong student of the world and its history. And he left the world a better place for having been a part of it.
Surviving are his parents David and Terry, partner Tart Johnson, sisters Jennifer Jones and Stacey Waldrup.
A celebration of Scott's life will take place at noon, Friday, July 7, 2017, in Pulaski Square.
