Spencer Abersold Obituary

Mr. Spencer Melvin Abersold, 54 of Durham, died on Sunday, April 26, 2009. He worked most of his life in car and motorcycle sales and as a heavy equipment operator. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Woods Abersold; two daughters, Amanda Prouse and husband, Mark, of Zebulon and Traci Pilkington and husband, Joey, of Raleigh; his mother, Peggy Abersold Notor, of Clearfield, Pa.; two brothers, Michael W. Abersold of Dubois, Pa., Victor M. Abersold, of Clearfield, Pa and a granddaughter, Alyssa M. Pilkington. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin George Abersold, son, Spencer Melvin Abersold, Jr. and a daughter, Michelle Leigh Abersold. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Clay Waters. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Flowers are acceptable.

As this name came across in our local newspaper, I recognized and suddenly remembered, I had graduated with Spencer. You often wonder what happens to kids you graduated with. I remember him as being a nice young man who was well liked. I was really saddened to hear of such a tradgedy. My sympathy goes out to all involved.
