Stella Wiggins Obituary
LOUISBURG
Surrounded by her loving family, Stella Vee Perry Wiggins, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 21, 2012 at her home. She was 90 years old. Stella was born in Franklin County, the daughter of the late Millard and Neta Perry and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. She was completely dedicated to her family, church, and community, but cooking was her passion. Anyone that came to her home had to stay and eat a meal or at least a slice of one of her homemade cakes. She was especially known for her Caramel Cake and if you were one of the lucky ones that she made it for, you know how good it was.
Stella babysat all of the grandchildren from birth to kindergarten while their parents worked. These were special times for her and Haywood when the grandchildren were young. She was a devoted homemaker and helped her husband and family farm raising tobacco, farm animals and a garden big enough that she could share with all her family and friends.
The family would like to thank Stella's caregivers, Linda and Wilma for their kindness, compassion and extraordinary care.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, May 24, 2012 at Flat Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary McNair officiating. Entombment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Wiggins is survived by her children, Jennie Lloyd and husband, Tommie, Ricky Wiggins, Guy Wiggins and wife, Debby; grandchildren, Megan Wiggins and Brandon Wiggins; great-grandson, Justin Lloyd; sister, EvaBelle Wheeler and brother, Dr. Gattis Perry. Stella had numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Haywood Wiggins and by her granddaughter, Jennifer DeEtte Lloyd.
Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to Flat Rock Baptist Church, 1529 Flat Rock Church Road, Louisburg, NC 27549.
Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
