Stephen "Curly" Hiltbruner, 59, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the Bryan-Lee Chapel in Garner. In celebration of Curly's life, food and fellowship will immediately follow at the Garner Woman's Club: 230 US Hwy 70 West, Garner.
He was born in Tallahassee, FL on December 1, 1957 to the late Earnest Hiltbruner and Noreen Maher Hiltbruner. Curly worked for 32 years with Jerry Wagoner Builders. An avid gardener, Curly was very proud of his tomatoes and the blue ribbons won at the NC State Fair. He enjoyed reading, fishing , his meticulously kept yard, and time spent with the cat named Angus.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory a loving family which includes his wife, Belinda Edwards Hiltbruner; mother, Noreen Maher Hiltbruner of Raleigh; step-mom, Janette Hiltbruner of Weaverville, NC; son, Dustin Hiltbruner of Waynesville; brothers, Mark Hiltbruner and wife, Carolyn of Pierre, SD, Brian Hiltbruner of Raleigh; nephew, Kelly Hiltbruner; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins; and a brother-in-law, Raymie Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the USO of North Carolina: 2610 John Brantley Blvd., Morrisville, NC, 27560.

Know that God is carrying you...when you are weak He is indeed strong. Never stop talking about your husband. Always reminisce & share. Sometimes you'll find yourself laughing & crying at the same time but I promise you will heal & transition through the grief. Doing these things helped me when I lost my husband in 1993. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts & prayers.

Belinda, my heart goes out to you right now. Me and my prayer warriers at church have had Curly on our prayer list for awhile. So, I know God had a reason for taking him home.
