Tabitha Hayes Obituary

Mrs. Tabitha Bridges Hayes, 83, of The Laurelsof Forest Glenn, 1101 Hartwell Street, Garner, NC, formerly of Martindale Road in Winston-Salem, went to be with the Lord Sunday, October 30, 2005, after five years of declining health as a result of Alzheimer's disease.
She was born in Iredell County on March 29, 1922 to the late John Lee and Della Mullis Bridges. She was a graduate of Union Grove High School. She wasemployed and retired with 35 years service with Western Electric/Lucent Technologies in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Hayes was a member of The Pioneers of America. She was also a member of Urban Street Baptist Church for over 30 years, and later became a member of Vernon Forest Baptist church and Waughtown Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hayes was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Lee Templeton; brothers, Parks Washington Bridges and Fred Bridges of Union Grove, Solon Bridges of Statesville.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Thomas Lee Hayes; a son, Captain (Ret.) Ronald L. Hayes and wife, Wanda Branon Hayes of Garner; two grandchildren, Angela Hayes Hodges and husband, Arthur Griffin Hodges of Clayton, Ashley Renee' Hayes of Buies Creek; she is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mrs. Hayes was a dedicated wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family as well as all her friends.
The family will receive friends, 2 - 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005 with a funeral service conducted at 3 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller SilasCreek Chapel with the Rev. Joe McWethy officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, High Point Road, Winston-Salem, NC.
