Thomas Connor Obituary

Thomas Michael “Mike” Connor, 66, of Wilson died Thursday.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. The Rev. De Eakes will officiate.
The family will receive friends 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and other times at 2914 Lancaster Road NW.
Mike was retired from Bridgestone/Firestone where he received the President’s Award in 1994 after receiving two patents for machine modification he invented. He was a master woodworker, furniture builder and handyman. He was a member of Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church.
Mike is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jane Sasser Connor; three children, Thomas Michael Connor Jr. and wife, Ellen of Pocomoke City, MD, Beth Connor Shelton and husband, Charles of Henderson and Ginny Connor Atkinson and husband, Michael of Wilson; five grandchildren, Dylan and Erin Connor, Levi and Bailey Shelton and Garrett Barnes; a brother, Neill Connor and wife, Linda of Wilson and a nephew, Charlie Bedgood and wife, D.D. of Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burrell and Ida Connor and sister, Peggy Connor Bedgood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 419, Lucama, NC 27851.
