Dear Stephanie and family,

Trisha and Steve told me this week about Vernon. I am so very sorry for your loss.

I have such pleasant memories of you and Vernon at the high school reunion a few years ago. It was clear that he had worked hard on it.

Please know that my thoughts are with you.

Dear Stephanie, Jamie Lynn and Jennifer, I received this incredibly sad and shocking news from David Kaplan who is a sales rep. with Sherrill Furniture! Stephanie, you may not remember me, but I was with Sherrill and Motioncraft as a sales rep. in the 1980's and 1990's! Vernon was one of my favorite people to ever work for and I remember visiting the Motioncraft plant and then staying the night as a guest in your lovely home. I still have my silver bowl inscribed as "Motioncraft Salesman of the Year," which Vernon presented to me at the Sherrill market wrap-up meeting many years ago. I believe that I last saw Vernon at market outside a restaurant in High Point about eight or nine years ago. He must have gotten ill since that time, because he looked great then. As of last October I have retired from the furniture industry. I have no doubt that Vernon was one of the very nicest people that I ever knew in my twenty-five years of being a sales rep in this industry! My heart and love go out to all of you in light of Vernon's untimely passing! I know that he will be greatly missed by many people, including his loved-ones! May God be with you all! Most sincerely, Charles Cathey

Stephanie, Jamie, and Jennifer;
Our deepest sympathy. We will pray for your family on this Palm Sunday. Vernon was a friend and a pleasure to work for. He was always positive and looked for the best in people. He had that special trait called empathy. He will be missed by those fortunate enough to have met him.
