Cheryl, Robert, & Cordle Family, Please know how sad our Cary High Alumni Band is for your loss of Owen. He was a wonderful man, and we all enjoyed knowing him. Owen played in the Mt Vernon Goodwin Elem band, Cary Senior High band, & NCSU marching band with me. At Cary Senior High, under Dr.Jack O. White, Owen & I won Cary High's first superior + rating at the Southeastern Marching Band Festival in Bristol,TN in 1960 and the 1st superior rating for Cary High's Concert Band at the NC Music Festival in 1961. We both played in NCSU's Liberty Bowl game in Philadelphia in 1963. I was very proud of Owen continuing his musical legacy in the Raleigh music community over the years. Through all of his many successes & experiences, Owen remained the same great guy. We all will miss him terribly. May God bless all of your family now and the future. Sincerest Sympathies, Bob Brantley-Greenville,SC
