Viola Byrd Obituary

Viola Register Butler Byrd, 89 died Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Britthaven of Harnett in Dunn.
She was a native of Harnett County and a member of Union United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie B. Register and Missie Jane Long Register and husbands, John Wilson Butler and Douglas Wilson Byrd. Also by three sisters, Elmer, Emma and Fannie, two brothers, Woodrow and Paul Register.
Funeral 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Union United Methodist Church. Pastor Kim Hyung, and Pastor Pat Fletcher and Rev. William P. Register officiating. Burial, church cemetery.
The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall, other times at the home of Charlie Butler.
Memorials may be made to Union United Methodist Church, 2212 Nursery Road, Lillington, NC 27546.
Survivors are son, Charlie Butler and wife, Margaret of Broadway; daughters, Lois Butler Black of Bunnlevel, Bobbie Butler Strickland and husband, Don of Clayton, Linda Butler Fann and husband, K. Don of Washington, NC; three stepdaughters; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a special niece, Marie Kinton Taylor of Lillington.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to O'Quinn-Peebles Funeral Home.
