Walter Dunlap Obituary

Walter Massey Dunlap, Jr., 96, a native of Rock Hill, SC formerly of Lake Wylie, died Saturday, November 12, 2005 in Rock Hill.
Memorial service 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Joe Brooks officiating. Interment will be private.
Mr. Dunlap was the son of the late Walter Massey Dunlap, Sr. and Lillian Massey Dunlap.
He was a retired engineer of the Ford Motor Company and an independent antique dealer. He was a member of the Rock Hill Country Club, the Charlotte Masonic Lodge, and was also a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Dunlap was the widower of Norma Whitfield Dunlap.
Surviving are his son, Walter Massey Dunlap, III and his wife, Jeannette Sims of Sumter, SC; his daughter, Karen Dunlap Vaughan and her husband, Charles of Woodland, NC; his sister, Dora Dunlap Gaston of Rock Hill; three grandsons, Charles Julian Vaughan, III and Matthew Dunlap Vaughan, both of Raleigh, NC and Walter Massey Dunlap, IV of Charleston, SC; and his step-granddaughter, Linnell Vaughan of Raleigh, NC. Visitation will follow the memorial service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of York County, 2036 Carolina Place, Fort Mill, SC 29708; or the First Presbyterian Church, 234 E. Main Street, Rock Hill, SC 29730; or to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
