William Corley Obituary
William Clarence "Bill" Corley, 78, of 7401 Peddler Place, died Monday, September 24, 2007. Bill was born October 5, 1928 in Edgefield, South Carolina to the late Lemuel Eddie Corley and Irma Norine Haltiwanger Corley. He was a retired Senior Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force. He worked as the Director of Police Information Network with the State of North Carolina. After retirement, Bill did volunteer work with Hospice of Wake County.
Funeral service, 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2007 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Ron Brisson, Pastor of New Life Church officiating. Burial, New Knightdale Baptist Church Cemetery, Mailman Road.
Surviving: children, David Corley and wife, Karen of Middlesex, Laura "Chris" Raybon and husband, Chester of Zebulon, Janice C. Young of Knightdale; stepdaughter, Vicki Sferruzzo of Raleigh; grandchildren, Michael P. Kiley, Jason N. Kiley and wife, Linda, Megan J. Young, Sarah A. Young; step-grandchildren, Jordan Bryant and husband, Leron, Taylor Sferruzzo; great-grandchildren, Mark, Kobe and Cassi Kiley; step-great-Grandchildren, Cameron and Brianna Bryant; brothers, Eddie Corley, Maurice Corley; sisters, Virginia Putnam, Nita Taylor, and Nancy Turner.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by wives, Dorothy Marven Corley and Doris Vaughn Corley; brother, Larry Corley; and sister, Ann Christie.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service & Crematory, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary's Street, Fourth Floor, Raleigh, NC 27605, or to the American Red Cross, 100 North Peartree Lane, Raleigh, NC 27610.
