William Enloe Obituary

Mr. William G. Enloe, Jr., 79, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2005.
He was born in Raleigh on September 18, 1926 to William G. Enloe, Sr. and Ruth Erskine Enloe. Mr. Enloe attended public schools in Raleigh. He served in the Naval Air Corps during World War II as a Gunner on a TBF Avenger.
He graduated from N.C. State University in 1950. He worked for Erwin Mills in Durham and then moved to Winston-Salem in 1955 to work for R.J.R. Tobacco Company. After 34 years he retired in 1987 as director of purchasing. Mr. Enloe was a member of the Purchasing Management Association of Carolinas-Virginiafor 30 years. He served as president in 1974 and received the Thomas Award for outstanding service in 1975. In 1979, he attended the executive program at U.N.C. Chapel Hill. He also served on the advisory committee of the Reynolds Health Center for eight years. For over 40 years, Mr. Enloe was a member of Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church and served on many committees.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Blackman Enloe; three sons, William G. Enloe, III of Lewisville, Michael H. Enloe of Atlanta, GA, Steven Lee Enloe and wife, Kelly and daughter, Danielle of Lewisville; a sister, Mrs. O.P. Hay of Raleigh and husband, Oscar.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 25th at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 3543 Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to your favorite charity.
