William Wrenn "Bill" Joyner, 65, died at his home Monday, November 27, 2017. He was born August 6, 1952 to the late Worth Basil Joyner, Sr. and Mae Wrenn Joyner.
Bill owned and operated his family business, Shorty's Famous Hot Dogs in Wake Forest since 1975. Shorty's Famous Hot Dogs has been A family owned business since 1916. He was a very dedicated community businessman serving the "locals" as well out of town visitors. It was rare to see Bill without a smile on his face.
Bill enjoyed traveling to the mountains as well as the beach. He was a fan of the Rolling Stones and Stevie Ray Vaughn, but his greatest love was for his family and his business.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, December 1, 2017 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home, Wake Forest. Burial will follow in the Joyner Family plot in Wake Forest Town Cemetery.
Surviving are: two sons, Wrenn Joyner and Maria Ray of Wake Forest, Christopher Joyner of Wake Forest; granddaughter, Taylor Joyner, Savanna Ray and Alyssa Driver; three brothers, Worth Joyner and wife, Gail, Ed Joyner and wife, Carol and Tony Joyner, all of Wake Forest; as well as many loving family and friends.
The family will be present 5:00-8:00 pm Thursday, November 30, 2017 and 1:00-2:00 pm Friday, December 1, 2017 at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest. (919) 556-5811

This was one of the greatest men I ever met. He would be there anytime good or bad. He did his best with the public of Wake Forest and his sons are just as great. I love and will always miss the jokes,stories,laughs and just the man himself. R.I.P. Buddy/Dad
