Carolyn "Lyn" DeVane

1957 - 2026

Carolyn "Lyn" Rebecca DeVane, 68, was born on May 27, 1957 and died February 3, 2026 due to complications from early onset Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Nashville, TN and grew up in Clearwater, FL, where she graduated from Clearwater High School. She attended SPJC and USF and worked as a dental hygienist, then as a patient care coordinator at UNC. She spent the majority of her adult life in Raleigh, NC.

Lyn was a devoted Presbyterian (lifelong member of White Memorial), an ocean & manatee lover, a music aficionado, a steward of the Earth, and a sweet human. She was a thoughtful, caring, and kind friend and family member. Lyn is preceded in death by her father Max DeVane and nephew Kyle Christensen. She is survived by her lifelong friend, Marilyn Hein. She is also survived by her mother Rebecca Houghton (Eric "Step-Dude"), sister Dawn Christensen (Richard), brother Maxwell DeVane (Emily Amon), niece Lauren Christensen, great-niece Galena Christensen, and nephew Amon DeVane.
