Bill Mooney, 88 of Holly Springs, NC, died Saturday morning May 27, 2017. Bill was born in Medford, MA to the late William and Julia Mooney. Bill served as an aerial photographer in the United States Air Force from 1950 – 1954. He attended Merrimack College, graduated from Franklin Technical College, and worked twenty seven years for Eastman Kodak Company where he traveled the world.
Bill is survived by his son Christopher A. Mooney and daughter-in-law Sue Mooney of Cary NC, two grandchildren: Bryan and Kaitlyn, his son John F. O'Reilly of Bethlehem PA, grandson Sean O'Reilly, his brother John Mooney of Tampa FL and his sister Mary Sotheby of Malden MA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Pulsifer Mooney.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to his doctors, Western Wake Hospital, and the caring staff at the Hospice Home.
Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday, May 30th at the Apex Funeral Home from 5-7pm with the funeral service taking place on Wednesday, May 31st at St. Andrews Catholic Church at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Transitions Hospice Home, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Bill and I became friends when Bill was a Technical Sales Rep. for Kodak in St. Louis. We remained friends for many years and enjoyed many martinis together. We both ended up in Rochester with Kodak working as instructors teaching customers and Kodak employees the wonders of photography. Bill and Jean were godparents to my third child, Cliff Kuhfeldt. Bill always wanted two olives in his martini, so I had to one up him and order three. We will always remember Bill and Jean, and we'll meet again later at another happy hour.
