Beloved mother, wife and sister passed away in the early hours of April 4, 2016 at Cottage Hospital, at the age of 87.
Jacqueline was born in San Bernardino, CA on August 5, 1928, to Charles T. Burton and Virginia (Yohe) Burton. Jackie was raised by her parents along with her two brothers in Maywood, CA.
Jackie was married to Wilbur M. Spencer on June 2, 1947. In 1950 they moved to Santa Barbara where they raised their five children.
Jackie worked at the County Administration offices for over twenty years. After retiring she volunteered at Saint Francis hospital until it closed. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church on the Mesa. She loved to travel especially to her husband's home state of Hawaii. She loved to throw parties at her home for family and friends. Until her passing she never failed to mention at least once a week how much she missed her absolute favorite restaurant, The Talk of the Town, where her husband and she were regulars. After its closing her favorite places became Harry's and the Mesa Café.
Jackie was preceded in death by her brother Bud in 1985, her husband in 1995 and her daughter Mary Spencer, the baby of the family, in 1978. She is survived by her remaining children, Deborah Spencer, Santa Barbara; Sandra Shearer (Glenn), Paso Robles; Steven Spencer (Susan), Paso Robles; and Kenneth Spencer, Lompoc.She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, sixteen great- grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, her brother, Kenneth Burton of Mission Viejo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass will be celebrated this Saturday, April 9 at 10:00 at Holy Cross Catholic Church followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery.

So saddened to hear of Grandma Jacks passing, she was a wonderful lady who will be missed. Katy and Charlie loved her so much, there will surely be a hole in their hearts without her. I learned a lot from her, things I still do today, everyone always wants gma jack tacos!!May all your wonderful memories comfort you and help you through your grief.
