Of Santa Barbara passed away on September 21, 2015. A Long time resident of Santa Barbara and Lompoc, he was well known throughout the community. He could be recognized by his big mustache. As an avid lover of the outdoors and horseback riding he enjoyed his weekend rides up to Rancho Oso as well as riding his horse Blondie in numerous Old Spanish Days Parades. He also enjoyed spending time with his family in San Jose, California and going with them to the Swap Meet. He is survived by his wife Margaret Leyva, his children: Louie Leyva III, Manuel Leyva and his daughter Sylvia Limon, along with his 7 grand children, 4 great grandchildren and his many nephews and nieces as well as his siblings: Joe Leyva, Lola Castillo, Mary Dominguez, Juanita Leyva, Tony Leyva, Peter Leyva and Teresa Mendoza. He was preceded in death by his parents Louie and Ysidra Leyva as well as his siblings: Albertina Loya, Raymond Leyva, Antonia Leyva, Josie Jimenez, Louisa Martinez, Petra Lopez, Jesse Leyva, Ramona Garcia and Fernanda Garcia. Services will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 12 o'clock/high noon at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1300 East Valley Road. Please join his family to share stories and memories of Louie at a BBQ Reception following the services at Tucker's Grove Park (Area 5).

As I sat there watching over my Dad,I heard a voice it said say a prayer for him,So I held my father tight and whispered GOD will keep you safe and set you free ,My final prayer was answered as my father took his last breath In heaven the Leyva Family Angels were kneeling in prayer at the alter of the SON they were praying for my father that the battle would end and the pain would be gone Jesus stood up off His throne and spoke in His Glorious voice that thundered across the skies LET IT DONE the gates of heaven were opened The Leyva Family Angels took flight they came down from heaven and gathered around my DAD and they took him home(DAD I WILL LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU ALWAYS ) Your Son Louie Leyva iii
