With heavy hearts we report that Peter Hausman has passed away. After a long bout with cancer, he breathed his last on August 23, 2016, in Lompoc, CA. We who loved him were by his bedside. He went peacefully. Peter was born in Westpoint, NY on November 23, 1954, to William Hausman, MD and Lillian Margaret (née Fuerst) Hausman. He is survived by his wife, Michele Hausman; daughter Marne Setton; his mother and his siblings Linda Johnson and Clifford Hausman. Peter was preceded in death by his father and older brother Steven Hausman. He had a master's degree from Loyola Marymount University and he loved his work. He was a senior principal software systems engineer at Raytheon Company in Goleta, where he was well-liked, admired and respected for his technical expertise and jovial personality. A private memorial service will be held for his family and friends at a future date. Contributions in Peter's name to the Melanoma Research Foundation (melanoma.org) would be greatly appreciated. We loved and will always love you, Peter.

I worked with Peter for more than two years. In that span of time, I came to appreciate his knowledge and his work ethic. In addition, he never minced words when it came to putting out a good product. He will be sorely missed for his engineering and software knowledge.
My condolences to his family.

A dear man that so many people will miss. Peter loved his wife and family, He loved his work and he loved his cookies. He was brilliant and peaceful. Peter was imposing but gentle and soft spoken. I was honored to be one of his friends, and I loved it when I was included on the Christmas cookie list. Bless him and his wife, daughter and family.

I was so saddened to hear of Pete's passing. We worked together at Fujant, and he was such a wonderful man - a big teddy bear... Deepest sympathy to his wife and family.
