Robert Roy Briggs, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Saturday January 24, 2015 after a long battle with aggressive melanoma. He was 81 years old. He is survived by his wife Gayle, sons Robert, Marc and Patrick, 3 grand children Jason, N'Cole and Jeffrey as well as 3 great-grandchildren.
Bob was born in DeKalb, Illinois on February 25th, 1933 to parents Robert and Alma Briggs. He graduated Northwestern University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1955. He served stateside in the United States Navy from 1956-57.
Bob has been a California resident for more than 50 years. He built his home in 1969 and started his business One Way Industrial Supply in 1974. 40 years later the business is now owned and operated by his 3 sons.
He also had a love for nature and enjoyed hiking. He had the opportunity to trek through Nepal as well as hike the Grand Canyon. He was an avid traveler visiting all 7 continents and more than 100 countries, including 2 trips to Antarctica.
He was a devout Christian and a man of immense faith. He was a member of Calvary Chapel for many years. His faith served him well until the end and was a great sense of peace for his wife Gayle. He was a man of great integrity and character and will be missed by all.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, February 7th at 11am at Calvary Chapel in Santa Barbara.

As you know, Bob and I had been friends for over 45 years and he was a very special friend in Christ to me.
I will miss him so very much.
