Barbara J. Kubisek, 83, a longtime resident of Bethel, CT, formerly of Danbury, CT, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Danbury Hospital. Mrs. Kubisek retired from Western Connecticut State College in 2001. Barb's greatest joys were spending time with her beloved family and their dogs in Vermont at their cabin and at their home in Bethel for family gatherings and holidays.
Born on May 3, 1938 in Sharon, CT she was the son of the late Earl C. and Beatrice (Benson) Woodin. On June 2, 1956 in Danbury, CT she married Bernard Kubisek who predeceased her on October 9, 2021. They enjoyed 65 years of marriage together with a lifetime of memories.
Mrs. Kubisek is survived by her loving son, Bruce (Naomi) Kubisek, of Bethel, CT. She is also survived by her grandchildren Lindsey & Kyle Fish, Lindsey Aravena, Juan Henao, Carly Aravena and Willy Galvin.
She is also survived by her six sisters-in-law's, Laurette and Margerie Woodin, MaryAnn Slater, Janet (Bill) Reynolds, Loretta (Jack) McLaughlin, and Judy Kubisek; brother-in-law, Dennis Kubisek and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kubisek was predeceased by her three brothers, Gordon, Ernest and John J. Woodin, Sr.; brothers-in-law, Raymond Kubisek, Thomas Kubisek and daughter-in-law, Carolyn Kubisek.
Graveside services and burial will take place at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Valley View Cemetery in Dover Plains. Memorial contributions may be made to Danbury Hospital Foundation, 24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, CT 06810.
