Christopher Cortese Obituary
Christopher Cortese, 61, died on January 25, 2013 in Lawrence Hospital. Formerly of Yonkers now of New Fairfield CT. He was born on December 6, 1961 to Julius and Mary (Driscoll) Cortese in Yonkers where he was raised and educated graduating from Yonkers High School. Christopher was currently working as a freight handler at Home Depot where he was employed for over 12 years. On April 3, 1982 he married Karen Malara in New Rochelle, she survives. Christopher was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and also volunteered with an elderly couple driving them to stores. Besides his wife Karen he was survived by his father Julius, son Christian, daughter Danielle, sisters, Karen Mastrorito and Kim Cortese. Christopher was predeceased by his mother Mary. Visitation will be at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Monday January 28th. From 4pm to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sacred Heart Church at 11am on Tuesday January 29th. With interment to follow at St. Josephs Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Jansen Hospice in Tuckahoe or the Cancer Team of White Plains.

Sadly I just heard Chris had died from a co-worker of ours with the town of Eastchester. Chris was the one who introduced me to my 1st wife and was the best man at my wedding. I moved to another state and over the years we fell out of touch sadly.He was one of my best Friends when I knew him. A very genuine down to earth person,kind and caring. I always wanted to re-connect and renew our friendship which will not be possible now. I remember Chris used to say "we are not animals we are highwaymen". May your spirit carry on in another realm and find me. Love you Chris you were a good man Bro!
