Christopher Skidmore Obituary
Christopher James Skidmore, June 19, 1994 ~ October 3, 2014 20, of Southbury, CT died unexpectedly, but peacefully, Friday, October 3, 2014, at Humble House in Burbank, California.
Chris was born June 19, 1994 in San Diego, California, the son of Michele (Mercier/Tremont) Skidmore of Southbury, CT and Charles Skidmore of Shelton CT. He graduated in 2012 from Pomperaug High School. Chris worked at ShopRite, Southbury CT, throughout high school. He was currently employed at Alpha and Omega Moving Company in Sun Valley, CA.
Chris spent 13 years of his life in New Milford, CT and touched many lives during that time period. He attended the New Milford Youth Agency and was loved by the counselors. In 2007, his family moved to and made their home in Southbury, CT. In February 2014 he moved to Los Angeles CA, a dream come true for Chris.
Chris's passion was skateboarding and he could be seen about Southbury trying to find the perfect stair set. He frequented the local skate parks and made many friends. Chris' skateboarding dreams were fulfilled in California skating at Hollywood High, Venice Beach and Sunset Blvd. He had a fun mischievous side and loved movies that would give a good laugh. From his love of movies and music, Chris had the capability to hold a conversation that fully referenced movie quotes and song lyrics. His sweet tooth was well known and he would never refuse a sugary treat if offered. He was a gentle affectionate and kindhearted soul. The warmth from a hug received from Chris is one of the most cherished things we will all miss. Christopher had a laid back energy that made you feel at ease and accepted. Beside his mother and father, he leaves his adoring and devoted sister Renee from Southbury, CT, a loving brother, Joe, from Tempe, AZ and two caring sisters Nicole and Sara from San Diego, CA. He also has two loving grandparents Ron & Patsy Mercier of Fort Pierce, FL and beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. In California, he had a close and special relationship with his girlfriend, Destiny, and numerous friends and counselors that adored him.
A Celebration of Life and Prayer Service for family and friends will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St, Southbury, CT on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00 PM.
