Diane Seyfang Obituary

Diane E. Seyfang
Diane Ethel (Brosz) Seyfang, 76, of Kuna, Idaho, died on January 12, 2024 at Cascadia of Boise after several months of declining health.
She was the beloved wife of Karl H. Seyfang for 52 years who predeceased her in 2022. Diane is the mother of Lynne D. Seyfang of Kuna, Idaho and formerly of Bethel, Connecticut. She leaves a brother Alan W. Brosz of Vernon, Vermont, surviving aunts including Lucille Lewis and Marietta Bailey, and numerous cousins from her parents Walter and Myrtle (Bailey) Brosz.
Diane was born on September 10, 1947 in Danbury, Connecticut. She attended local schools and graduated from Danbury High School in 1965. On April 11, 1970 Diane married Karl H. Seyfang of Bethel, Connecticut. They started their life together on Payne Road eventually moving to 1 Adams Drive in Bethel where the family lived for 40 years. Their daughter operated Lynne's Luncheonette at the Danbury Superior Court House for many years, an employment program from the State of Connecticut specifically designed for visually impaired people.
Diane worked at Grolier's in Danbury, Connecticut. An industrial accident occurred and resulted in a back injury that required a lifetime of medical attention. However, Diane's incredible fortitude and perseverance allowed her to continue with everyday activities in spite of persistent back and leg pain.
Family was important to Diane. Her daughter often invited a favorite cousin for play and overnight stay at the Seyfang home on Payne Road. This resulted in a longtime bond between Lynne Seyfang and Dawn (Lewis) Johns of Boise, Idaho. Lynne eventually relocated to Idaho to live with Dawn and her family after the closing of Lynne's Luncheonette in 2019. Diane followed her daughter to Boise in 2022 and was cared for by Lynne and her fiancée Randy Clark of Kuna, Idaho.
Karl and Diane enjoyed their retirement years together in Bethel, Connecticut. Diane loved cats and often had several in her home. She collected various types of clothing and figurines depicting cats. Diane also enjoyed reading and spent many hours on her Amazon Kindle reading novels and solving challenging word puzzles and games. A favorite of Diane was cooking. Many German dishes were prepared for the family using recipes from the Seyfang family. Summer vacations were also enjoyed by the family and often Diane, Karl, and Lynne traveled to Lancaster, Pennsylvania where the Amish lifestyle and customs were celebrated. Another pastime for Diane was watching baseball. Karl, Diane, and Lynne cheered for the New York Yankees and faithfully watched all home and away games.
There will be a memorial service for immediate family members in the spring. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the American Cancer Society.

I worked with Lynne at Stop and Shop back in the early nineties and was able to know Diane and Karl. A lovely family. It saddens me but she will be with Karl now :) Blessings and love to Lynne and Dawn.

It is with a saddened heart we send our condolences to Diane's family and friends. We will long remember when she came to the house for our duck eggs so she could bake a big fluffy cake. That brought such smiles to all of our faces. She was a great lady and so friendly to us. She will be missed. Deepest sympathy, Henry, Gail & Family
