Dorothy E. Linstrum, 92, of Farmington, ME, died peacefully early Friday, September 30, 2022 at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, ME. She was born July 13, 1930 in New York City, the daughter of Daniel and Margaret (Haeslin) Cerioli. She was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Raymond, earlier this year. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Raymond C. Linstrum, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Safety Harbor, FL and Wakefield, RI, and Edward Linstrum and his wife, Karen of Madrid, ME; two grandchildren, Erik Linstrum and his wife, Sheela of Charlottesville, VA, and Allison Rice and her husband, Matthew of Oldsmar, FL; and three great-grandchildren, Nina and Max Linstrum and Stella Rice.
Dot grew up in the Bronx and graduated from Evander Childs High School and later worked for the FBI as an administrative assistant. After meeting and marrying Ray she moved to the Danbury area in 1950, and remained there until moving to Maine three years ago. In addition to raising her family, Dot worked a number of years at Grolier and Sears Roebuck in Danbury.
Dot enjoyed many years at her beloved home in Danbury, including long walks with her husband around local reservoirs. She loved her family dearly and devoted herself to picking out the perfect gift for all occasions. She held warm spots in her heart for both dogs and the New York Mets. Dot also cherished the many trips she and Ray took out West and to Bar Harbor, ME.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery in Rangeley, ME, with Father Thom Rock, officiating.
