Eugene Sabo Obituary

Eugene "Gene" Sabo, 85, of Brookfield passed away peacefully at his home on May 28th. Gene was born on November 18th, 1925 in Philadelphia , PA to Anna and Eugene Sabo who have preceded him in death. Gene is survived by his son Michael Sabo and his wife Robin of Westminster, MD and his granddaughter, Jennifer. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Frances (Freeburn) Sabo and his grandson, Michael. Gene was proprietor of various bowling pro-shops and manager of bowling establishments. He started his career in the NJ area. He was a former professional bowler of the PBA Senior Tour. He had bowled thirteen 300 games over the course of his career. Gene was a member of the Connecticut State USBC Association Hall of Fame. He enjoyed teaching all ages and participated in many Danbury bowling leagues over the last 45 years up until the last couple of years. He loved travel, golf, Sunday football, and the casino. He could always be located at the lanes. He will be sadly missed by his family and by his many friends. Contributions may be made in Gene's name to Masonicare, 535 Connecticut Aveneue, Suite 101, Norwalk, CT 06854 or the Regional Hospice of Western CT, 405 Main St., Danbury, CT 06810. In keeping with his final wishes, there are no services. Arrangements were entrusted to Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury, CT 06810 . Gene,
We have only known you for a short while from Roxbury Mixed League, We always looked forward to Friday nights when you came to Brookfield Lanes and hung out and socialized, we always had a chair at our table for you and enjoyed chatting. You will be greatly missed,Rest in Peace!

To the Sabo family, I would like to express my condolescences on your loss. Gene knew my father Aldo through all the days at the Bowlarama and drilled my bowling balls at the Pro Shop.
