Glen Murphy Obituary

Glen Clayton Murphy Sr.
Glen Clayton Murphy Sr., age 77, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, in Greenwood, South Carolina, with his loving wife by his side.
Born in New Milford, Connecticut, to Hazel and Duke Murphy, Glen grew up with a love for life's simple joys-chocolate milk, ice cream (don't forget the syrup), crab legs, car rides with the Roxie's (his dogs) and NASCAR racing. These passions stayed with him throughout his life and became part of the stories and memories he shared so easily with those around him.
Glen spent many years as a dedicated truck driver before retiring. He was known for his strong work ethic, his reliability, and the pride he took in providing for his family.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his easygoing nature, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. Glen had a deep appreciation for classic muscle cars and was a familiar and valued presence in his community. Above all, he cherished time spent with family and friends, finding joy in the everyday moments that meant the most.
Glen is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Diane; his children, Holly, Clay, and Scott (Betsy); his grandchildren, Chelsea, Kayley, and Bridie; his great-grandchildren, McKenna, Eviana, and Walker; his brother, Gary Murphy (Marcy); his brother-in-law, Randall Barrett; as well as many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his cherished golden retrievers.
