Evelyn Fancher Obituary
Evelyn Louise (Gillotte) Fancher , 93, a lifelong resident of Danbury, CT, wife of the late Clarke H. Fancher, passed away at her Florida home on June 25, 2013 surrounded by her family.
Born in Danbury on February 17, 1920, daughter of the late Anthony and Katherine (Straiton) Gillotte. As a young woman, Evelyn worked as a bookkeeper for the Danbury Rubber Company. Evelyn became a Real Estate Broker, running her own business and later as a Real Estate Appraiser for Robert N. Noce Associates. Evelyn also served on the Fair Rent Commission for the City of Danbury.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Gloria Folan and her son-in-law Martin and many nieces and nephews especially her nieces Doreen Pastorok and Patricia Barrett of Danbury and Carol Mason of Newtown.
She was predeceased by sisters Kathryn Pastorok of Bethel and Dorothy Sweet of Danbury.
Special thanks to her long time caregiver Donna Jordan of Bridgeton, NJ and the wonderful care received from Greystone Home Health Care, Take Care Home Health, and Tidewell Hospice in Venice FL.
Graveside services in Bethel, CT will be held at a time to be announced.

Gloria and Marty, I was saddened to learn of aunt Evelyns passing and please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. I will always remember the fun picnics and great holiday dinners that she made for friends and family and always had a friendly smile for everyone.We have to cherish those good memories. When I first moved into Driftwood many years ago, Evelyn would always stop her car to chat. She had a way of making you feel uplifted. So sweet, one of a kind. She will be missed but not forgotten.

Gloria & Marty we just heard today of Evelyn's passing. We were so very lucky to have met your Mom and spend some fun times with her. She was an amazing woman and will surely be missed. Evelyn always greeted you with a warm smile and a gentle hug, the pleasure she took in simple friends and family gatherings. She had an unfailing courtesy to others and a willingness to extend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. So grateful for the connection to a life that was lived with grace, integrity, humility - remembering Evelyn and Clarke so fondly that they are united together again and will dwell in the house of the Lord - God Bless

I have wonderful memories of your gracious Mom. Remember how she always wore those 4 in. high heels! In my best days, I could never wear them. She had an open heart and always treated me like a second daughter. I hope you can find some peace in knowing that she is safe and well now in the arms of Our Lord, smiling down at you.
