Paula, Austin, Gina & Nicole:

My family and I were privileged to know the ‘gentle giant' of Gary, Big G, Uncle Garbear or Uncle FedEx. His love for his family was always his top priority. That priority was not based on need but based on his love for all of you. Whether it was making his big breakfast, signature brisket or homemade pies to shuttling Austin & Gina to one of their many sports meets, to just being the handy man around the house Gary was always there enjoying every little bit of it. His quick wit and charm would make you laugh and smile and no matter what circumstance the family has faced over the years Gary was the rock, the one who stood strong and pulled everyone through it, with grace and dignity.

I feel so blessed to know that we had just spent a fabulous week in LBI with him. His and our favorite time of the day was sitting on the beach late in the day enjoying a cold beer and some lively conversations. This year's shrimp bisque competition between Paula & Deana was just another memory to add to the book, and both Gary and I were smart enough to know not to vote against our significant others!! Our last camping adventure in Herkimer, Memorial Day weekend with the torrential rain and coldness still could not put a frown on his face.

Gary was a special man with a huge heart. Whether you knew him 2 minutes or 20 years you always felt like he was your friend. He was a man that would give you the shirt off his back or his last penny if you needed it. He could give you driving directions to just about everywhere and could walk you through how to fix your furnace over the phone. I will miss you dearly my friend.

May you all find some comfort in the following: You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

All our love ~ Jamie, Bailey & Spencer

I remember Gary as both a fellow member of the WRFD where he always enjoyed being at the grill at the Steak and Chicken dinner goofing around with John, Pickle, Dave and Ralph and for the years he was the FedEx delivery man at my previous employment. Gary had the kindest, most giving heart of any one I have met and would have done anything to help a person. He was truly one of a kind (an old soul) and will be missed by so many.
