A wonderful man that will be sadly missed. May God ease your pain and make your memories strong. I will always remember how he tipped his hat to be every time I passed him in New Milford with my school bus. I often wondered if he tipped his hat to every bus driver thinking it was me. So many fond memories. RIP Harry.

Hey Kay,
I only heard yesterday of Harry's passing.
I'm so glad I called and was able to speak to Harry while he was at Danbury hospital. When I asked him how he was doing he said WELL not so good. :( .
I don't get the newspaper. I was talking to someone that also knew Harry they told me.
My Ray(Butch) always loved Harry and looked up to him.
Even when Harry wasn't feeling at his best he made time to come and see me while I was at Bethel Health Care after Ray's passing. We always joked and he love to tease, I will remember him!!!!!!!!!!!! I have the plack he (Harry)had made in memory of Ray, both in my home and at Miry Brook Firehouse to remind me.
Prayers going out to you and yours
Sincerly, Renee' Sherwood

Our condolences to the Hansen family. My memories of Harry always involve Floyd and vice versa. They were two peas in a pod. They helped me rebuild a blown engine on my first car and I got to hear quite a few stories of growing up on the farm of Floyd's mom. Harry was helpful when my father was killed. He will be missed.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.

Kay, Harry, Joanne, Timmy & all family members, I was so sorry to hear of the loss of such a great man. All of us that knew Harry, knew Harry was the MPVFD, he knew the fire ("houses", old & new) inside and out, I met him at the firehouse almost 40 yrs ago, always a gentleman, always so nice. I'll miss him so much, just knowing he isn't there anymore.... One story I have to share----" we, the fire house," were having a party, wet down from getting a new truck, flower sales, something, & he was getting ready to leave, and in his true gentleman like style, he reached over to give me a kiss on the cheek??? Looked at me quizzically, and said, "you smoke"?, and I'm sad to say at the time, I did. But the realization that he smelled smoke on me, was the single reason I quit smoking, September 9, 1991. He didn't hurt my feelings, but gave me the little kick I needed to quit. I haven't smoked since that day, and for that, I thank him. He never knew...
I hope all the great memories you've all made over the years will bring some comfort and somehow ease your sorrow. Maybe stories from other people will help, & hopefully knowing that he will always be remembered for that big smile will someday bring a smile to your faces when you think of him.... With sympathy & much love & Hugs to all of you,
Sincerely,
Cheryl walker
