I am so so sorry for your loss. My siblings all could not have said it better. I have so many of the same fond memories. As you face these coming months, may God bless you with peace love and the knowledge that you are all loved and are being kept close in prayer. May this journey be filled with so many of the memories that are your special ones that keep him close and allow you to heal one day at a time. We were so blessed to have the Deakin and Dean families come into our lives on that beautiful trip to Italy over 10 years ago. We instantly fell in love with Jim as well as all of you. His smile, his laughter, his voice was always music to our ears. He was a shining example of a loving husband, caring father, and thoughtful friend. He is sure to be missed by all. May you find comfort in your memories. We love you. XO, Tara & Matt Chila

Mrs Deakin, Jimmy, Kathy and Mary. Words cannot express my overwhelming sadness when I heard of Mr. Deakin passing. I have so many fond memories that it is hard to pick just one. The tractor rides up the driveway to get candy or being mesmerized by how he was able to mow his yard by sitting sideways on the tractor...how did he do that? My heart goes out to you all during this time. I feel so truly blessed for having grown up across the street from such a wonderful person. He will be missed! May you have Gods peace...
All my love Chrissy (Matzinger) Krumholz

Dear Mrs. Deakin, Mary, Kathy, and Jimmy
I am at a loss for words, I was so shocked and heartbroken when Mom asked me to sit down and then told me. We have known the family since I moved across the street about 43 years ago. He was a father figure to me for so many years, especially after my father passed on almost 30 years ago. I always enjoyed having conversations with him about our neighborhood and how our families are doing. Loved the memories how he would watch us playing basketball and badminton at his house with his son Jimmy and his sisters along with other neighborhood kids. The most daring memory I have is when every time he mowed his front lawn, his butt was half off tractor seat trying to balance on the hill! I always had my phone ready in case he flipped over!
The neighborhood will not be the same without him! I will miss him dearly and will never forget him! God Bless!

Mrs Deakin, Mary, Kathy, and Jimmy,
I was deeply saddened when my mom called to tell me of Mr. Deakin's passing. I have wonderful memories of growing up next door and especially Kathy and I pretending do drive in your car. I still have never seen a lawn that was as well manicured as Mr Deakin kept yours! My thoughts and prayers are with your and your entire family.
Much love,

My deepest condolences to the Deakin family.
In my teen age years I knew two Jim Deakin's, and not sure which has now passed. There was Big Jim, who played basketball with my brother Dick, and the other who was into hot rods (1941 Ford with an Olds motor), and lived behind the Teachers college, next to the little church.

Patti,Jimmy,Mary,Kathy- my heart broke last night, when I spoke to Jim Jr., and got the news about Jim. He was by far one of the greatest people to come into my life. Our work relationship, turned into a life long friendship, that few people are lucky enough to have. He taught me so much in the carpentry/construction field, that there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of him, when I am hanging a door, putting up some trim, or building a staircase. We laughed every day together, sometimes until we were crying! He was a second father to me,a mentor, and great friend. I will miss his Christmas cards, our phone calls on Father's Day, and knowing he is no longer a phone call away. I will talk to him everyday, as I look out over our Vermont farm, and have comfort in knowing he is up there looking down on us all. God bless you guys, and thanks so much for sharing him with me for all those years. Love Gibby, and Sue Geiger
