Ann Lacey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornell Memorial Funeral Home on Feb. 2, 2026.
Ann (Moissonnier) Lacey, of Kent, formerly of Danbury, beloved wife of the late Peter Lacey, passed away on January 26, 2026 at Danbury Hospital.

She was born in Danbury on August 2, 1940, daughter of the late Emile and Mary (McGoldrick) Moissonnier. Ann was a graduate of Danbury High School and received her certification as a Registered Nurse from Danbury Hospital in 1961.

Ann dedicated her professional life to caring for others. Her nursing career spanned many years and included work at Danbury Hospital, Glen Hill Center, and later as a nursing supervisor at The Kent. She also devoted herself to childcare for numerous years. No matter the role, Ann's compassion and nurturing spirit were always at the center of her work.

A woman of deep faith, Ann was an active member of St. Gregory's Church in Danbury and Sacred Heart Church in Kent. She and her husband, Peter, served as Eucharistic Ministers and were deeply involved in their church communities. Ann was also a dedicated volunteer, particularly at the Kent Library book sale, where she could often be found helping on Saturdays.

In her free time, Ann enjoyed knitting, crafting, sewing, and reading, and she had a lifelong love of books. She cherished time at the beach and, most of all, time spent with her family. She was immensely proud of her five children and adored her ten grandchildren, finding her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved. She will also be remembered for her beautiful, contagious smile that brought warmth to everyone she met.

Ann spent her life caring for others, including her devoted care of her husband during his later years. She deeply missed her husband of 56 years, and her family is comforted in knowing that they are now together again.

She will be lovingly remembered by her five children, Patrick and his wife, Donna; Jennifer Kennedy and her husband, Dan; Thomas and his wife, Alyssa; Kathleen Lacey; and Melissa Healy and her husband, Jeff; and her ten grandchildren, Ryan and Meghan Lacey and her husband, Ross; Ali, Maggie, and Sara Kennedy; Liam, Callie, Dalton, and Landon Lacey; and Eva Healy.

She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Moissonnier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Kent.

Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery will take place in the spring.

Donations in Ann's memory may be made to the Nuvance Health Nursing Education fund.
